The Boating is Great!

Most places in Florida have the intra-coastal (a very nice ditch to travel) plus the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico (both very large bodies of water). Punta Gorda has both but first we have beautiful Charlotte Harbor that offers great sailing and cruising without the threat of high seas.

If you lived in Punta Gorda, you might have been on this boat heading out. They may be going to the beach, to one of the barrier islands for lunch, fishing or up the Peace River for a day of sight seeing. OR They could be going to the Bahamas, Key West or beyond.

It is a tough life but someone has to do it. That is, live with their boat 20' from their back door and have quick access to the best boating in Florida. It doesn't matter if your boat is large or small, sail or power. We have good boating for all types and sizes.

Punta Gorda Isles and Burnt Store Isles have a unique system of canal maintenance. Many years ago the City of Punta Gorda took over the maintenance on the seawalls and the dredging, when necessary, of the outlets to the Harbor. Not owning your seawall or canal is probably the best thing you've never owned. You are assured if your neighbor's seawall falls down that it will be fixed promptly and correctly, thereby reducing your risk.
