THE VISUAL ARTS CENTER
The Visual Arts Center is a not-for-profit organization that opened its doors over 30 years ago, it brings together people interested in the visual arts.

The Guild now boasts over 800 members, and with its many professional and extremely qualified instructors, promotes greater knowledge, skills and appreciation of the visual arts through classes, programs, workshops and exhibits for adults, high school students and children.

The building includes two galleries, a photography lab, office area, classrooms, gift shop and library. Abundant lighting, extended cathedral ceilings and over 225 feet of exhibition space make the Visual Arts Center an ideal location for year-round exhibits.

The Visual Arts Center is located at 210 Maude Street in Punta Gorda across from Fisherman's Village. Admission is free. For information call (941) 639-8810.

FISHERMEN'S VILLAGE
This is a unique waterfront destination of 33 gift, clothing and specialty shops, 7 restaurants, a 98 slip marina and fully furnished luxury villas. Attractions include fishing, sailing, water sports, sightseeing cruise boats, live entertainment, special events and gorgeous sunsets. Located on beautiful Charlotte Harbor and the Peace River. KING FISHER FLEET
The King Fisher Fleet, located at Fishermen's Village, offers the best of Florida for both sightseers and fishermen. Sightseeing cruises, eco-tours, full and half day cruises, sunset cruises and harbor tours are available. Fishermen can enjoy deep sea charter fishing in the Gulf of Mexico or back bay fishing in the Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve. BABCOCK WILDERNESS ADVENTURES
Enjoy the fun and excitement as you travel in a comfortable swamp buggy high above the dark waters of the 8,000 arce Telegraph Cypress Swamp. Experience the thrill of watching panther, bison, deer, turkey, alligators and more in their natural habitat, and often approach within a few yards.

The 90,000 acre Crescent B Ranch in eastern Charlotte County offers you the chance to see the real Florida, unspoiled and untouched. Highly skilled naturalists guide you through this 90=minute eco-tour adventure as the woods come to life before your eyes. Three hour off-road and eco-bike tours through the scenic roads and trails are also available. Bikes and helmets are provided.

THE A.C. FREEMAN HOUSE MUSEUM
The Freeman House was built in 1903 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Community volunteers saved the house from demolition and many more helped to renovate the house back to its Queen Anne "carpentry gingerbread" style. The historic structure is now owned and operated by the Charlotte County Foundation, a not-for-profit civic service organization. It is available for small weddings and special events, and from December to April is open for tours. Call (941) 637-0077 for an appointment.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM & CIVIC CENTER
This multipurpose facility is located on attractively landscaped grounds overlooking the Peace River and is within walking distance of two motels and a shopping plaza.

The Civic Center has a seating capacity of 1,900 and is equipped to handle a wide variety of activities, which include: conventions, performing arts, arts and crafts shows, antique and trade shows, professional and non-professional theater, charity balls and professional boxing.

CHARLOTTE COUNTY FAMILY YMCA
The Charlotte County Family YMCA is a multi-cultural community based service organization and serves residents of all ages in Charlotte County and nearby areas.

Two Fitness Centers, one adjacent to the administrative office in the Carrousel Mall in Pt. Charlotte and one located on the campus of Edison Community College in Punta Gorda, feature cardiovascular machines, nautilus equipment, free weights, aerobic area and locker rooms. members have access to both facilities. CHARLOTTE PLAYERS
